The victim’s mother testified that she notified Social Services of suspected abuse in March 2006, and Marvin was arrested the next month.

Marvin denied all of the allegations at the March trial. He said that the victim was lying and was mistaken about the events.

But an inmate at the Rappahannock Jail testified at the trial that while incarcerated Marvin admitted to him that he had taken baths with the victim and washed her genitals.
