drive, ATV. I rode it sensibly for awhile, and then some friends asked me to ride with them. And they were and are good friends, but they ride like old men, putt-puttin around in first and second gear, and that wasn’t much fun, so I stood on it. Wide open, baby. Get the heck out of my way.
It didn’t hurt much right away, but two or three days later I couldn’t stand up straight and there wasn’t enough ibuprofen in the medicine cabinet to do any good, at all.
Now, WOT in the fields and mountains is one thing; but wide-open-throttle on the highways is stupid and dangerous, and, the last time I checked, still pretty illegal. I think it was Trooper Buntin who put me to walking when the GTO was king, and the old Fords and Chevys and Mopars would go hide behind the woodshed when that thing rumbled into town. Hopefully, I have learned from those mistakes. Maybe it is time for another guitar. Well see.
I hope you have enjoyed the break from the 100degree heat. I thought it was nice watching it rain. We were getting pretty dry. Funny, but the fields have greened up really well, but the creeks and streams still look awfully low. I hate to think of the little trout and bass and what they have to do to get by when the streams get so low. Somehow, they seem to survive, but it has to be tough on them.
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our carnival, here in Flint Hill. I got to see a number of old friends, and make some new ones. As always, the kids seemed to have a big time, and that makes it all worth it. It was still a lot of work and a lot of headaches, but it was for the best of causes. Thanks, everybody. You done good. See you next time.
