The Board agreed to hold a public hearing at its next meeting to consider providing tax exemptions to volunteer fire-andrescue personnel. Those qualifying for an exemption would not have to pay personal property taxes on one vehicle.

The Board authorized a grant to help rehabilitate the Scrabble School near Sperryville. County Administrator John McCarthy said that renovated school will be used as a senior center and holds historic value. Letter on illegal immigration
The Board authorized a letter from County Administrator John McCarthy to Culpeper officials indicating that Rappahannock County is willing to participate in a resolution to identify and study local problems with illegal immigration. McCarthy noted that Rappahannock County does not face the same problems with illegal immigration as Culpeper, but he would nonetheless like to assist the neighboring county.
