• Sold more raffle tickets than any other member for over 30 years for Amissville Volunteer Fire Department.
• Served on the EMS Advisory Board representing the Virginia State Firefighter’s Association for several years. * Introduced training at conference, when some said it would not work.
Mr. Poling served on many other committees for the association including, being a charter member and past president of the Virginia Fire Service Council, organizing the first Fire Science Program in a high school system in the United States and teaching classes for two years in Fauquier County.
President Harris and secretary Dickey Atkins presented Mr. Ming with the award.
