Friday night after a four-play 55-yard touchdown drive. Following an offsides penalty against Luray on the opening play of the drive, junior tailback Steve Dodson dashed 35 yards down the right side of the field to set the Panthers up at the 15-yard line. From there, senior fullback Tim 'Fitzmorris carried three times, crossing the goal line on a three-yard touchdown plunge with 2:14 left in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs responded on their ensuing drive, marching 75 yards on nine plays. The drive ended with Derrick Runyon plowing through the Panthers defense from three yards out for the score.
The Panthers looked to answer on the following possession as quarterback Jonathan Butler tossed an 18yard pass to Brook Stokes to move the ball out to midfield. After a first down run by freshman Connor Settle put the ball inside the 30-yard line, the Panthers converted on fourth-and-four as Butler carried the ball down to the 10-yard line to set up firstand-goal. But on the next play, Fitzmorris hobbled the hand-off from Butler, and the Bulldogs pounced on the ball.
Luray used the momentum from the turnover to march 90 yards in three minutes and score the go-ahead touchdown just before the half. On the first play of the drive Bulldog quarterback Willy Logan hit senior Brad Painter on 33-yard pass. On the next play, tailback Johnny VanWycek burst 12 yards to
