Have you ever thought about how blissful life would be if you never had to lug your trash to the dump or trek out of the county to buy groceries?
Well, Rappahannock, relief is on the way.
Anyone tired of spending too much time in the car, driving from one errand to the next, can call the Country Concierge and she will take care of your “to do” list.
Town of Washington resident Lisa Leftwich started offering the service recently to give people more time for what they really want to do with their lives.
“The nature of the business is to create time for my clients, giving them more time back so they can enhance their personal and professional lives,” Leftwich said.
The Country Concierge will care for pets, take trash to the dump, bring vehicles to be serviced, go shopping, maintain a garden, make travel arrangements, type and proofread documents, coordinate and supervise landscapers, plumbers and other workers who come to the house and run other errands.
Leftwich thought Rappahannock’s parttime residents who are not in the county to take care of their second homes would be her main customers. But the service is not just for weekenders.
Locals who have too much on their plates may want to hand off some of their errands as well. Leftwich also envisions the elderly or handicapped using the service.
“It could be beneficial to those who can’t get out and do things for themselves,” she said.
Leftwich has a diverse professional background, which makes her well-suited to handle a variety of tasks. She has been a biology teacher, designed her own line of outerwear for fishermen in Alaska, was employed at a U.S. Department of Agriculture laboratory and worked with her ex-husband, who is a real-estate developer.
