He has managed airport operations around the state of Virginia and is most widely known in the aviation community, among historic airplane restorationists, pilots and air show fans up and down the east coast, here and in Britain .
Retired American Airlines captain and aviation historian Ken Hyde counts himself lucky to be among Charlie’s students, “TO be forever grateful for the opportunity to have been an apprentice mechanic and taught to fly by Charlie Kulp. I hope no one will miss the opportunity to see him fly his last performance at the Flying Circus on October 28.”
