Tattended a meeting of the XSchool Funding team on Sept. 10. The subject matter, finding alternative funding for our schools. The biggest challenge being to convince our legislators that we need the help and where the money should be taken from.

I think we will have a problem when our legislators study our schools. They will see a history of declining enrollment and a school budget that increases each year. We have a 10-to-l student-teacher ratio, which is unheard of in public schools. Also, many administrative positions that are not required by the state. They will also see that we have spent nearly $10 million on building additions to our schools in order to accommodate an increase in enrollment that has in fact decreased. When our legislators see the mismanagement of taxpayers’ money, they will certainly take a second look.
