Culpeper Rock Academy presents benefit concert for Lee Linthicum who has AIS disease from 1-9 p. m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Culpeper Agricultural grounds on Route 29, Culpeper. There will be 15 live bands including Rappahannock's The Pink Mob and also food vendors. The cost will be $10 in advance, $12 at the gate and $5 kids ten & under. Sept. 22: Civil War Medicine
When not in battle, soldiers spent their time in camps and faced many problems with sanitation, diet and insects. Leam about Civil War field hospitals that provided care to the wounded soldiers and see how amputations were done. Civilians also contributed to the war efforts in a variety of ways. Leam how to roll bandages, like those used during the Civil War. This event will be presented by volunteers with the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Sponsored by the Brandy Station Foundation, the event will be held in the Graffiti House located at 19484 Brandy Road Brandy Station. The event is free and open to the public. Starts at 3 p.m. Donations gladly accepted.
