Each snippet is a surprise, thoughtprovoking, and has a story line that you need to pay close attention to because it is over quickly and seamlessly flows into the next short film. Each director's cut, however, is labeled so you always know when you are into a new story.
You will learn a lot watching this anthology— about love and relationships and about other cultures, as well as about vampires, American tourists, mimes, and teen romance. Eighteen views, eighteen takes. Paris is international in nature and has a large population of immigrants, all with full and rich experiences that Americans may know only a little.
We enjoyed the film for all of its complexity, texture, as well as a chance to watch great actors and directors do wondrous and interesting things in a city we personally love and enjoy.
Maybe you will too will find love in the “City of Lights.”
The film is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community. It has an MPAA rating: R for language and brief drug use, and the running time is 2 hours.
