The Executive Director of the Rap pah an nock-Rapid an Community Services Board noted recently that the project in Rappahannock is an important project for the seniors and the expanded capacities in both space and programs are needed. Staff volunteers and users of the current Center expressed enthusiastic support for die new facility. In an informal survey over a dozen seniors not currently using the facility intend to be frequent users of the offerings that will be possible in the new Center.
The Scrabble School Preservation Foundation, reconstituted in 2003, has received funding by grants provided by foundations and contributions by local citizens.
