wnce a weea, every uiursday night, there is a place you can go and take your banjo or guitar or mandolin or fiddle or what have you, and watch and learn or play and learn the music that you love. The tunes and songs vary tremendously, as does the crowd. Some nights, the music played there is equal to anything you will hear on a stage or TV show.
Ronnie Fbe (days the fivestring banjo. He played and recorded with one of the best fiddle players this area has ever seen, the late John Ashby; and played in John’s band, the Free State Ramblers. Some years later, Ronnie, and one of the best natural singers I ever heard, Ifed Kreh, started the Shenandoah Travelers. Years later, it was Ronnie FVie who asked me to join that band.
Sadly many of the wonderful musicians and singers that graced Ronnie’s garage with their talents are no longer with us. Ted Kith, R.B. Frazier, and Wesley Smith are just three of the musicians I knew and whose
