Back in town
Two-and-a-half-year-old Trent hollered from the back seat as the car turned north on Rt. 522, “No, Grammy! Go the other way! I want the MerryGo-Round!”
The Merry-Go-Round and the carnival are long gone, but some of us still carry memories of it. In fact we should be thankful every day for the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department. We need to remember that this organization exists to serve the community. With a mass effort from volunteers, the FHVFD netted over $25,000 which will reduce the debt on the new fire truck.
And, though many, many people support the Fire Department - not only during the annual carnival, but throughout, the year — we, as a community, need to be thankful for the amazing efforts of Nancy Jones and her devoted service to all of us. Did you know that she alone was responsible for selling $21,000 worth of raffle tickets for the pickup?
