MUlbrook High School’s varsity volleyball team hit back Tuesday night, and it hurt.
The Pioneers dominated net play in handing visiting Rappahannock County High School its first defeat of the 2007 season, 25-13, 25-23, 25-13 in non-Bull Rim District action.
“I know I can learn from this,” senior hitter Elena Kritter said. “I also know that we can learn from this. We were playing individually. We weren’t playing as a team.”
The defeat snapped Rappahannock County’s eight-game winning streak, which included an earlier victory over the Pioneers.
Millbrook has one of the top Group AA teams in the Northwestern District this season. It has won eight straight since that early season loss to the Lady Panthers (8-1).
“You could see that they wanted to improve,” Kritter added.
