Hitt, a decorated veteran, who served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, said he did send in the list of Post 1150’s officers and received a receipt of verification that it had been processed.

Newberry said the VFW has no national plot to shut down smaller posts and such a plan has never been discussed.
“That is an incredibly inaccurate statement,” Newberry said. “Nothing could be further from the truth."
He added that there would not be any financial reward for the VFW’s national leadership
