Position at Rust Library. Provide overall management and supervision of reference services, ensure effective use of resources & personnel. Supervise reference staff, create an effective team environment in which staff involvement is encouraged in decision making process. Work with Programming staff to plan, publicize. present programs for adults. Schedule/ develop appropriate training for staff, conduct regular reference staff meetings, conduct annual performance assessments. Provide collection maintenance support work with Collection Development staff to maintain adult materials collection. Ensure service oriented delivery of Reference Services, encouraging customers to ask questions and meeting customers needs. Schedule will vary, including nights and weekends. Master s degree in Library Science from accredited institution and 1 yr professional library experience to include supervisory experience. Must obtain certification as professional librarian by Commonwealth of VA within 6 months of hire. Prefer 2 vrs of library experience. (Hiring Range: S43.194 - S58.312). 08-S3454M0.
