Concerned with the cases possible punishment of the death sentence, defense attorneys argued that potential jurors may influence other jurors with their beliefs and requested that jury selection faike place on an individual basis.
Defense attorneys also feared the popularity of this case and the amount of media coverage it has garnered.

“We just want to make sure it’s fair and impartial to both sides,” said Cullen.
The last hearing before Gray’s Oct. 29 trial will take place on Oct. 15 at 2:30 pm., at which time Cullen will hear from both sides regarding the Baskerville testimony.
