Oct. 6: Classical piano recital
Katazyna Marzec and Michael Tsalka are distinguished pianists who received their early music training in Poland and in Israel. They will give a recital of classical piano music at the Theatre at Washington on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 8 p. m. Family Caregiver Workshops
A series of classes providing hands-on training, information and support to family caregivers will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 8 and 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. Take one or all four of these workshops which will give you helpful tips on caring for ill and disabled family members. Topics will include handson care, safety, preventing and dealing with problems, managing medications, working with doctors and hospitals, finding resources, financial and legal issues, coping with confusion and dementia and caring for the caregiver. Community members are invited to attend the October Board Meeting of the Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance (RCCA). RCCA holds its monthly Board of Directors’ meeting on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 -7:00 at the RCCA office at the Schoolhouse in Sperryville (at the corner of Routes 522 & 211.) The Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District will be hosting its 2nd “Build Your Own Rain Barrel" workshop on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Young Farmers' Pavilion in Madison, VA. Lunch will be provided. Barrels will cost $35 for 1 or $60 for 2. including hardware. Barrels without hardware will cost $15. Barrels can also be purchased without attending the workshop.
