The center hall features a floor, designed by local master cabinet maker Peter Kramer. It is a combination of several varieties of woods leading both to the living/library area on one side and the dining/kitchen area on the other, as well as to the wide stairway to the second level. A lampshade from Venice, an olive wood table found in D.C., and artwork from near and far are just some of the fascinating furnishings.
The living area is comfortable and uncluttered, and home to many interesting and unique pieces, some from family, and others picked up during the couple’s many travels. They are placed with an eye to enchantment and intrigue, and reflect the unique interests and tastes of the owners. The library is furnished with comfortable chairs upholstered in a pale green patterned fabric which combines with the pale green of the walls to provide a tranquil background for books.
