Program’s annual Veteran’s Day Celebration.
The event will begin with a luncheon for mentors and their prot6g£s at the Washington Town Hall, where speaker Lee Hitt will honor load soldiers currently serving and those who served in years past.
The young people will then work with their mentors to write thank-you notes to local servicemen on active duty. The event will conclude with a ceremony at The Sperryville Cemetery’s recently-dedicated Veterans’ Memorial.
With a growing waiting list of boys eagerly awaiting mentors, Starfish is once again in need of “A Few Good Men [tors].’
Men who have two hours a week, on average, to share with a seven- to ten-year-old boy please contact Starfish Program Director Carol Lucking (987-7204, ext.l) for details.
All mentor applicants undergo thorough background screenings, high-quality training, and ongoing professional support and supervision.
