The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection’s Biodiversity Task Force will host a presentation by Shenandoah National Park Biologist and Forest Pest Manager Rolf Gubter on a triad of insect pests that are threatening our native forests: the hemlock wooty adelgid, the gypsy moth (which is back on the rise), and the emerald ash borer (which is on its way here). He’ll discuss the park’s strategies for managing these pests and what private landowners can do to on their own properties. The presentation is at foe Rappahannock County Library at 7 p.m. Admission is free but space is limited.
