A horse and dog lovers yard sale Nov. 17 benefits the local Waggin’ Hearts Therapy Dog program. The event runs 10 a.m.-3 pm. in Sperryville. The Virginia Cooperative Extension and Southern States are sponsoring a seminar on “Caring for the older horse” Nov. 8 in Charlottesville and Nov. 9 in Front Royal. Lipizzaners to return
The “World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions” return to George Mason’s Patriot Center Nov. 24 and 25. Included in the performances are many of the “airs above the ground” that make the Lipizzaners famous. The leaps and kicks were once used by mounted cavalry officers to protect and assault on the battlefield. Shows are at 2 and 7:30 pm. on Nov. 24, and at 2 pm. on Nov. 25.
