Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the unpaved portion of South Poes Road is in horrendous condition? It was starting to get rough before the last big rain. But since that creek-reviving downpour, it’s more like an amusement park ride than a road. Which might be fun for the kids but I don’t think my suspension is appreciating it much. On the other hand, perhaps I should think of it as a free massage!
Speaking of massages, a one hour massage was only one of the silent auction prizes at the 4-H Chili Cook-Off and Bluegrass Festival this past weekend. While this event is not in Amissville, I have to tell you all that if you missed it you missed a very good time and some very local talent. Debbie Zinn and Natural Grass were one of the featured groups. Many of us are fans of Debbie’s and see her regularly at the Pickin’ Parties at Hackleys. The cause was excellent and the food and the music were even better. The cook-off got my competitive juices flowing and I believe Fll have to enter the competition next year. I’ve been told I make a mean chili!
