“We have had some good success and that’s generating interest in a wider area,” she said.
The Washington Post plugged the tour as a “can’t miss” exhibit, and responses from visitors suggest that it lived up to the hype.
“A number of people came back at the end of Saturday and Sunday just to say how much they enjoyed it,” Hilty said. “They felt it was dynamic and energetic out here.”
Three new studios were added to the tour this year — Kevin Adams’ in Washington, Sara Schneidman’s on Slate Mills Road and Barbara Heile’s on Harris Hollow Road. Hilty said that she hopes to add more Rappahannock artists to the tour next year.
