Rappahannock County residents want good entertainment and stimulating programs - proof is that a capacity crowd filled the Rappahannock County Library last Thursday night during the showing of the popular classic movie “National Velvet,” starring Elizabeth Taylor.
With the Rappahannock Library's meager budget, it is dependent on the talents and achievements of friends and supporters in creating programs that can be offered to the county. Elizabeth Taylor and her husband, John Warner, neighbors in Fauquier County, loaned the Rappahannock Library this film.
Eugene McCarthy, a “Woodvillian,” although a very busy speaker on the national circuit, generously agreed to accept an invitation to speak at the Rappahannock Library on Tuesday evening, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. Senator McCarthy, author of eight books, the most recent of which is “Mr. Raccoon and His Friends”, chose as his subject a surprising combination, "Poetry and Politics.” April 25 promises to be entertaining and stimulating.

This Sunday, April 2, the youth group of Deep Run Presbyterian Church, Bucks County, Pa., will be visiting Washington Baptist Church and the Rev. David Moore, who was their youth director while in seminary. They, along with the youth of Washington Baptist Church, will present special music at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Stuart Taylor, the present youth director at Deep Run and a student at Princeton Theological Seminary, will be the speaker for the morning worship service.
