At a special 8 a.m. meeting in the courthouse on Tuesday, the Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals members voted to hire an attorney to represent them in the ski corporation suit. The Fairfax law firm of Fitzgerald and Smith will answer the petition filed by the Rappahannock Ski Corporation on March 7 in which the ski area sought to overturn the BZA denial of the ski area’s special use permit.
The BZA members also passed a resolution formally asking the Board of Supervisors to appropriate $3,000 to cover counsel fees and to authorize disbursement no later than April 7.
