Glass Wins
Bland Contest
Arnold Lee Glass, III, first place winner in the Rappahannock Bland Music Contest last month, placed first in the Lions Club Zone Bland Contest on March 21 in Marshall, Va. Competing against contestants from Fauquier and Culpeper Counties, Arnold played the Violin Concerto in D by Frederick Seitz.
Arnold is the 11 year old son of Commander and Mrs. Arnold L. Glass II of Winchester. He is a seventh grade honor student at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly and a violin student of Todd Metcalf of the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music.
Arnold will next compete in the district contest to be held at George Mason High School in Fairfax on April 16.
