The girls’ game was better matched, but again the Seniors came out on top. Well, at least for the Juniprs, there will be another year.
On the preceding Friday, we were visited by a high school band from Nelson County. They played songs from the past and present and a female vocalist sang, too. The majority of the school seemed to enjoy the drummer the most; he’ll always have himself a fan club at this school.
The baseball team has been practicing for the past few weeks. Most everyone has been staying inside, waiting for the snow to melt; even though it’s been warm enough to practice outside, it gets rather “sloshy” and muddy in the outfield. The team this year consists of Seniors Roger Jenkins, Chip Frye, Robert Payne, Donny Compton, "Weasel” Carter and Brooke Miller; Juniors Gary Settle, Eddie Carroll, Rick Johnson, Nils Aylor, Mitch Wilson and Kenny Norman; and Sophomores Gary Leake, Jeff Jenkins, Tony Wayland, Tony Armentrout, Larry Settle and James Hackley. The guys are coached by David Hrbek.
