Workshop
A five-week poetry writing workshop will begin Saturday, April 8, and will meet for Five Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon. The workshop is for people who have never written a word of poetry, as well as for more experienced poets.
"My aim,” says Carla Eugster, facilitator of the workshop, “is to help each person feel his or her way into that pool of creativity from which poetry and all other art comes. We might approach the poetic process through games, group discussion, role playing, movement, music—whatever works. Of course, we will also spend time sharing and discussing the poetry written by the participants.”
According to Ms. Eugster, members of earlier workshops have discovered that the poetic process offers an exciting opportunity to see the world and themselves through fresh eyes, as well as the possibility of going on to sustained and serious poetry writing.
Ms. Eugster is a published poet who gave a reading at the Rappahannock County Library last November. Her most recently published poems appear in AS IS, a poetry journal of the Washington, D. C., area.
