“We were lucky. If it hadn't been for our little dog barking. I don’t think we'd have gotten out," said Harriett Kendall of the tire on Sunday, August 15, that destroyed her home in Old < Hollow. “The dog saved our lives."

The barks of the family pet alerted Harriett and Tommy Kendall. the couple’s daughter Melissa and Mrs. Kendall’s mother. Mrs. Minnie Racer, in time for them to escape with their lives. "But we lost everything else. Nothing could be saved," Harriett added.
