visitors as guests of Senator Byrd at his annual picnic at “Rosemont” near Berryville. Among the group from Rappahannock present were: James W. Flethcer, Clifford Miller, C.E. Johnson, Lucio Kilby, Charles Wood Keyser, Wade H. Massie, L.J. Turner, Mrs. Will Keyser, Mrs. H.M. Keyser, Mrs. J.E. Keyser, Hubert Foster, G.W. Smith, J. Rodes Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Yates.
Notice was issued that the water supply for the town of Washington was getting low in the reservoir and citizens were asked to conserve as much water as possible. Although there is water available from the artesian well for such an emergency, the artesian water is hard and the reservoir water is soft.
OHNNIE HARRISON
of Washington was v held in Rappahannock County jail after being charged with maliciously and feloniously shooting his father James Harrison. Johnnie allegedly shot and seriously wounded his father when h - attempted to prevent him from leaving home with a gun. Johnnie also reportedly threatened to shoot Tobio Scroggins with the same shotgun, bat was unable to reload when the chamber of the gun jammed. Newbill Miller of Washington was appointed manager of the Washington Apple Grower's cold storage plant. Miller was appointed by the Board of Directors after they accepted the resignation of James W. Coates who had been manager for a number of years. The Reverend B. Gale Titchenell of Woodville received a Master’s of Science in Education from Madison College in Harrisonburg. With the acquisition of the Master’s degree, he is also eligible for a graduate professional certificate for teaching in the schools of Virginia.
