The biology teacher will no longer have to stretch a hose from the janitor’s closet across the hall to get water. The classroom has been moved to the side of the building and a sink has been added. making experiments—and the clean up afterward—a regular possibility.
Commenting on the improvements, new principal Robert Chappell gave credit to superintendent Robert Estabrook and the county school board for setting aside money for the project. Work on the gym is especially important, he said, since it will serve as a focal point for greater school pride and spirit.
Chappell sees more face lifting operations ahead. One classroom has been painted this year “and we want to do the library next year,” he said.
