He explained that disaster preparedness organizers have been working with local hospitals for some time now to ensure proper response to emergencies. “If we called and said we’d had an accident with 80 injured, they’d say ‘Bring them in.’ And it’s just not possible for any individual facility here to treat that many. Each hospital could probably handle four or five critical patients and that would be it!”
