* Lynn Wood Jones was awarded the prestigious Cooper Medal as one of three graduates with the highest academic average at graduation exercises held last week at St. Mary’s College.
Miss Jones, the class salutatorian, earned an overall average of 3.970 on St. Mary’s 4.0 scale. She has attended the intermediate woman’s college in Raleigh, North Carolina, for her junior and senior year of high school.
Lynn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wayne Jones of Sperry ville.
