Del. Raymond K. "Andy” Guest Jr. (R-Hlst District) and his wife Mary Scott Guest hosted a reception Saturday afternoon at. their Rock Hill Farm in Front Royal, and on Saturday evening Hill Huddleston and His Friends entertained with music for square dancing.
Horsemen from all over the area donated mounts for guests to ride, with just about every breed, color and description included. There was even a mule, brought all the way from Blacksburg by Larry Slusser from VF1 & SU. „ ,
One of the most important pieces of legislation passed recently affecting the horse industry is the Breeder Incentive program, which provides matching state funds for every dollar awarded by private sources to winners of approved breeding competitions. This program is designed to promote the breeding of superior equine stock in Virginia. One of the direct results of the program is the new Hunter Futurity which will be held for the first time this year in August.
