Old Virginia Ham and

Chicken Supper

The Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown will have a supper at the Old Forest Grove School House on Saturday, May 28, from f> p.m. until 9 p.m. for the benefit of the church.

The menu will be Old Virginia Ham and Fried Chicken, corn pudding, string beans, parsley potatoes, peas, coleslaw, jello salad, pickled beets, pickles, home made bread and pies, coffee and tea.

All home cooked food for .$(>.00 for adults and carry-out boxes and $8.00 for children under twelve. Tickets may be purchased from Mrs. Sarah Jenkins, Jenkins Garage, Amissville. 1'hone Number 987-4692 and from Mrs. Ruby Spicer, Culpeper at 825-8225 or at the School House on Saturday evening.

Strawberry Festival

Piedmont Episcopal Parish will host its 8th annual Strawberry Festival, Sunday, May 29, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Delaplane, Virginia, on Route 17 about a mile north of Interstate 66.

Fresh strawberry sundaes and short cake will be the feature of the afternoon. A Strawberry Bake-off Contest offers a first prize of $.r> in each of three categories: cakes, pies and miscellaneous. Entries must arrive before 12:80. After the judging, slices will be sold at the refreshment stand.

Craftspeople will demonstrate and sell their wares at the booths along Delaplane’s streets. On the meadow there will be races and games for children, including softball, bag races and a dunking stool. Husband calling, softball and horse shoe pitching for adults will also take place on the meadow. The nationally renowned Free State Ramblers will play on the Delaplane Store’s Warehouse porch providing music fordancing in the streets.
