“He did start losing jobs, so I started working part time. The less he did, the more I did—covering bad checks, paying bills, working more. One day he called me from work and said he was sick. I took him to a doctor and the doctor said he was suffering from alcoholism, and that someone from AA would call him. It turned out to be my hairdresser.
