Sperryville Unleashing a barage of runs, the Sperryville Brewers buried Hazel's Pirates in a double-header at Sperryville Sunday afternoon. Ronnie Pullen was the winning pitcher in the first contest as the Brewers breezed to a 14-5 victory. He also went two for two in the batter’s box. connecting for one homer and driving in three runs. Jonas Jenkins was two for three with one triple. Roger Jenkins also went two for three and Gary Jenkins smashed a triple that resulted in two RBIs. Two ers to a 14-1 win. Richie Burke managed a hit all three trips to the plate, sending the ball over the fence for a home run and three RBIs. Other leading batters for Sperryville were Bobby Foster, two for two, and Jonas Jenkins, three for three with two doubles and three RBIs. Sunday’s double-header wins put the Brewers at 9-1 for the season and in second place in Fauquier’s men’s slow pitch league. This coming Sunday. May 22, Sperryville will take on Hugo's in a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Warrenton Junior High’s Benner Field.
