Additional safety improvements w ill occur along the entrance road to Mathews Arm Campground and on the northbound lane at the north entrance station near Front Royal. A complete replacement of the subsurface drainage system beneath Skyline Drive will also occur at the north portal of the Mary’s Rock Tunnell.

“The work should get underway around June 1 and will proceed for approximately one year," said Jacobsen. Visitors to Shenandoah National Park should plan their visits with these rehabilitation activities in mind. Delays in traffic may occur for a maximum of one hour; however, attempts will be made by project inspectors to keep all delays to under JO minutes.
