Kilpatrick said he is very much in favor of night meetings for the board of supervisors.“Let’s face it. The meetings are sparsely attended now because people can’t get there! People have to work. ”

“Terms of school board members from Jackson and Piedmont District will be up in June,” said Sharon Kilpatrick. “Pd like to hear from the supervisors how they will make their appointments,” she said, adding that she’d also like to hear from Lane how he would handle replacing himself on the school board if he is elected supervisor.

“I would contact parents and teachers and ask for suggestions and I’d ask the citizens in my district for their opinions. Then I would go from there,” Zindel said. “I would really try to find an interested mother to put on the school board.”

Neither Lane nor supervisor Charles Estes from Piedmont District attended last week’s forum. Also missing were supervisor Clarence Baldwin from Hampton District and sheriffs candidate John Walker Jenkins.
