The State Corporation Commission (SCO has authorized Central Telephone Company of Virginia (Centel) tofcoplement an interim $1.65 rWllion rate increase in the form of a 4.14 percent surcharge on local rates and service charges effective October 1.
Centel filed for the increase under the SCC’s Financial Operating Review (FOR) procedure on September 1. In that filing, Centel asked the SCC for permission to implement the 4.14 percent surcharge on its local rates and charges. The surcharge is subject to refund pending a final decision on Centel’s request by the SCC.
