During the past four years, Rappahannock’s supervisors have instituted - general land use taxation, approved agricultural and forestal districts with land use eligible land and discontinued the personal property tax and the tax on farm machinery, live stock and merchants’ capital. In addition, Rappahannock’s “100 percent fair market value” reassessment has taken effect. “The county has gone through considerable change in the past four years. I w’ant to thank the citizens of Rappahannock for their cooperation,” Scoggin concluded.
Treasurer
The main function of the treasurer’s office is the collection, holding and disbursement of public funds, according to two-term incumbent Frances Foster, running unopposed November 8. The treasurer’s books are audited annually by the state plus must be alw'ays kept ready for inspection by the board of supervisors, she said.
Foster asked for support from the voters and pledged to continue to give the dedication and hard work she’s put into the job over the past eight years.

Voters needing rides to the polls on November 8 will be able to get them from local real estate agents.
Eileen Day says she and her associates will drive anyone in the county to the polls on election day. Any- \ one needing transportation is invited to call her office at 675-3400 or any of her associates at home, Day said.
