Each year thousands of Virginia residents enjoy the lovely days of autumn on roads, trails, lakes and streams in state and federal public lands along the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shenandoah National Park expects nearly .350,000 visitors in the month of October—mostly motorists along the 105mile-long Skyline Drive extending the length of the park from Front Royal to Waynesboro.
