On October 3, Donna and Gene Fisher’s godsons Christopher and David Clayton from Culpeper spent the night in Castleton. Then the next morning, Gene drove them to Culpeper to reluctantly return to school.
Last Sunday, Judy Hitt went shopping in Culpeper with Tracy, Kerrie, and grand-baby Brandy. During this outing two events occurred. Brandy astonished her grandmother with the sudden exclamation “Smurf! Smurf!” and Judy was also dismayed to return to her car in the Southgate Shopping Center parking lot and see someone had stolen her bumper sticker! It seems Castleton candidates are right popular in Culpeper — people are willing to steal to get their stickers!
Judy was getting ready to watch the country music awards on television Monday night, a new portrait of her hero Kenny Rogers prominently displayed in the living room. Mitch wondered why the picture of the other man in his home, but Grandma Shirley walked in and just said, “Oh, hello, Kenny!” She understands — she loves Conway Twitty even more. (Of course, Judy admits if Kenny Rogers walked through her front door, she’d still choose Mitch.)
Sam and Cherry Vanneman were out of town all weekend. They went to Leesburg to see an old friend, Carol Rowland.
