Oktoberfest
The Parent-Teacher Organization of St. John School, Warrenton, has announced plans for their third annual. Oktoberfest celebration, to be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, at the Parish Hall on Winchester Street.
The doors will open at 10 a.m. each day, and close at 9 p.m. Friday and after the auction Saturday, which will start at 8 p.m.
Offerings this year will include many handcrafted gifts, a Christmas Shop for early Santas, and a Country Cupboard featuring homemade jellies, preserves, and baked goods. Dried flowers and silk floral arrangements will also be on sale.
Excellent German cuisine including bratwurst, Polish sausage, sauerkraut and hot pretzels, with cheesecake and German chocolate cake for dessert, will be served each day.
Activities this year will include games for all ages, puppet shows, pony and gocart rides. Live bluegrass music will be played Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. by fhe Radford Brothers Band.
Special prizes this year are an original floral applique quilt and a side of beef.
