rarmers are asked to nominate candidates of their choice bv October 81 to be on the ASC community committee ballot.

The ASC community committee election will be conducted from November 25 to December 5 by mail ballot. The two ASC communities in Rappahannock county are North and South.

ASC committees are responsible for managing government farm programs on the local level. To meet the needs of individual producers. ASC committee members must be concerned and responsible individuals. Farmers have the opportunity to nominate persons they feel would best serve the farm community. Farmers have received petition forms by mail and should now be submitting them to the county ASCS office.

In order to be valid, petitions must be limited to one nominee each, must include written certification that the nominee is willing to serve if elected, must be signed by at least three eligible farm voters in the ASC community and must be received in the county ASCS office by the October 21 deadline.

Farmers may circulate or sign nominating petitions for as many candidates as they choose. Anyone wishing to nominate a farmer for the ASC committee election may contact the county ASCS office for full details, including eligibility requirements for office holders.
