Country Spirit
Catch that country spirit on Saturday, October 15, Country Spirit Day in The Plains, the tiny hunt country village located between Middleburg and Warrenton.
All kinds of activities are scheduled. There will be crafts demonstrations and crafts for sale, Redskin celebrities, an antique car parade, model railroad exhibit and a church auction. For the children there will be a petting zoo, pony rides and horse and carriage rides. For all ages there will be musical entertainment by the Free State Ramblers Fresh Cut Grass, Blues singer John Jackson and The Village Squares with caller Jim Pride.
Events also include two challenging road races, a 10K run and a 25K bicycle race. There will be prices for winners and T-shirts for the first 50 to enter these races over two beautiful hunt country courses.
Food will suit every palate and will be available at reasonable prices.
All events for The Plains Country Spirit Day are free, with the exception of the races, which are $6 each or $10 to enter both.
