Senior citizens were the guests of honor at the Amissville Ruritan Club’s meeting on Wednesday, September 21. Guests and club members enjoyed a country chicken dinner with all the fixin’s, a meal fit for a king.

Entertainment was provided by the Virginia Creepers, featuring J. Tripplett, S. Brown and C. Fields playing their home grown music.

Aubrey Curtis was honored as the first charter member of the Amissville Ruritans. Mr. Curtis helped found the club and has attended every meeting since.

The club reported profits of $200 from its recent donkey ball game and $200 from the circus two weeks ago. The money, raised with the support of the community, will be spent on future community projects, according to W. G. Kanaby, club reporter.
