elementary school. They had chosen January 13 as a tenative date. Before proceeding, Campbell said the schools would carefully communicate the purpose of the program with the parents and also with the children so they would understand why the police officers were in the building. Campbell suggested that the schools could keep the prints and give copies to parents.

School board member Paul Nicholas moved that Campbell be allowed to proceed with the program and that copies of the fingerprints be made available to all parents who desire them. In supporting the motion, Randall Updike suggested the program be available for pre-school children as well as elementary pupils. The motion was unanimously approved with both amendments. Children of any age in the county will be fingerprinted with parental consent and copies of the fingerprints will be made available to parents who want them.
