At the close of the December 13 meeting, school board chairman Beverly Massie said she wanted to publicly thank Lane for his service to the schools and wish him well as a supervisor. Massie expressed hope that the School Board could continue to look to Lane as a friend and someone who would educate the rest of the county board on educational issues.
